Match Making

We are proud to be able to offer Match Making sessions at this year’s Alliance NW 2018!

What is Match Making?

Match Making is an opportunity for small businesses to meet with government agencies and prime contractors in a personal, one-on-one meeting. At this meeting, the small business can share with the agency details about their products and/or expertise and the agency can meet new qualified suppliers.

How Does It Work?

Alliance Match Making Events are well-known for their ability to bring many Attendees and Table Hosts together for meaningful, fruitful dialogue. In order to keep things moving smoothly, we have a formal process that we follow.

  • Registered attendees will sign up for Match Making spots on line. Registration will start on: February 21 for those that registered “early bird” before Jan. 31.  All others will have the ability to register the following day.
  • Day of Event: Attendees will check in to the event, thus confirming their participation in Match Making. Any Attendees who are not checked in to the event will lose their Match Making spots.
  • Time of Match Making: Match Making will begin promptly at 2:00 pm and will last until 4:00 pm.  Attendees will check in to the Match Making area at least 5 minutes prior to their registered time.
  • Length of Meetings: Attendees will meet with their Table Hosts for 8 minutes.

More information will be posted on the Sign Up Page as well as on this site as we get closer to the event. Any questions can be directed to: Kate Hoy,

Please note that attendees will be to pre-register for up to three time slots total, and only one time slot at a time. If you would like more than one individual to participate, you must wait until the day of the event to register for any open tables.

What's in it for the Table Hosts?

We greatly appreciate our Table Hosts and their participation in this event. We understand your desire to find new, innovative, quality suppliers and we will work with you closely to make sure you are meeting relevant small businesses.

For any questions or concerns, please contact Kate Hoy

What if I can’t get an appointment with a specific agency/prime? They are the reason I am going!

  • We will do our best to accommodate your requests, but keep in mind that if you are not able to meet with a desired agency or prime during match making, there are many opportunities throughout the day to interact with these folks, and also to meet with all of the other great agencies and businesses here today.
  • If your products/services do not fit the primary needs indicated by the agency/prime, we ask that you please refrain from registration for that session.
  • Not all agencies and primes participate in Match Making. Be sure to review the list of exhibitors to plan who you want to meet with throughout the day.

Is there an extra cost to participate in Match Making?

Nope! Match making is included in the registration cost for attendees, exhibitors, and sponsors.

I'm a small business, what do I say or do during my 8 minute meeting?

Preparation is key to a successful 8 minute meeting. We’ve seen firms receive contracts the day after Alliance NW because they were prepared, communicated effectively, and met with someone who was seeking what the small business was offering.  Washington PTAC recommends you do significant market research prior to the event so your meeting time is not wasted discussing information on the table host’s website.  Meet with a counselor for free before the event to create your strategy for success.  Not in Washington? How long are the sessions? Can I bring someone with me?

The sessions are 8 minutes long. In order to accommodate all Attendees who wish to participate, we will adhere strictly to this time limit. Come prepared!!!

And yes! You can bring one on other person with you. Due to space constraints, we ask you to limit your party to two.

Additionally, your company will be limited to three match making sessions when signing up. Again, in order to accommodate all Attendees who wish to participate, we will  be monitoring this closely.

Sounds exciting, I'm ready to sign up now!

Great! Match making can be a very valuable experience!
